Pablo Pastene

Pablo Alfredo Pastene Peirano is a Mechanical Civil Engineer with a career spanning more than 36 years in the fields of solar energy, business management, and higher education. He obtained his degree in Mechanical Civil Engineering from the Federico Santa María Technical University. He subsequently continued his academic training at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences in Germany, where he received a Diploma in Energy and Environmental Protection. He also holds an MBA from Adolfo Ibáñez University.

Throughout his career, he has held various leadership positions. Between 2009 and 2013, he was Director of Solar Energy at Fundación Chile, where he developed the organization’s solar energy strategy and founded Solar Chile, a company that was later acquired by First Solar. From 2013 to 2020, he served as Executive Director of the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Technology at Adolfo Ibáñez University, leading innovation programs for SMEs and connecting large corporations with technology entrepreneurs.

Since 2010, he has been Honorary President of the Chilean Solar Energy Association (ACESOL AG), and is currently the Commercial Managing Partner of Beewaze, a startup dedicated to the intelligent monitoring of bee hives for pollination services. His experience includes the implementation of Corfo’s first operating agent to support the development of SMEs in Chile and the creation of technological alliances with CENER.

In the academic field, he has been a professor at various universities, including the Federico Santa María Technical University, the University of Santiago de Chile and the Adolfo Ibáñez University, teaching courses on solar energy, innovation management and entrepreneurship.
