Tito Homem-de-Mello is Professor in the School of Business at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (UAI) since 2011. Before joining UAI, he had been a full-time faculty member at Northwestern University, Ohio State University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, all in the U.S.A. At UAI, Prof. Homem-de-Mello teaches courses on business analytics for graduate students. He conducts research on topics related to decision making under uncertainty, data analytics and risk management, with applications in the areas of energy, transportation, and finance, among others, having worked with several companies in these areas. Dr. Homem-de-Mello has more than 50 scientific publications in international journals, and has been principal investigator in numerous research projects (grants), including projects of the National Science Foundation (USA), FONDECYT and Anillo Projects (Chile). He is currently Director of the Anillo project “Adapting to the Uncertainties and Risks of Climate Change: Advanced Methods and Models for Energy Systems and Markets” and Deputy Director of the FONDEF project “GEMA: Improving energy management in micro grids with storage via stochastic optimization and machine learning.” He is a regular participant in international conferences, and has served as a board member of some of the leading international professional societies in his field.
