The International Council of Large Electric Grids (CIGRE) signed an agreement with the UAI Energy Transition Center (CENTRA), which will allow for a closer link between both entities and meet different objectives, such as holding a series of discussions on energy, publishing open-access discussion documents, and executing a fellowship program for professionals to explore relevant research questions.
The director of CENTRA, Daniel Olivares, explains that “this link with Cigre will allow us to expand the scope of our dissemination and transfer activities, as well as strengthen our transfer and outreach programs, such as industrial fellowships and CENTRA research chairs.”
Meanwhile, the technical director of CIGRE Chile, Alfredo Cárdenas, maintains that “this agreement opens the doors to prepare and disseminate open-access discussion documents, in which members of the UAI academic community (professors and students) participate, as well as professionals who participate in CIGRE.”
He adds that “the objective of CIGRE Chile is to bring the organization closer to the academic community in Chile, strengthen ties and become a technical reference and a center for the expansion and promotion of knowledge, through the composition of national and international study groups in electrical and energy matters, as well as the organization of specialized events, thus forming an instance for the technical exchange and updated information generated by experts.”
